Amritsar Gurudwara Trail – Divine Spiritual Journey

Day 1: Arrival & Golden Temple Visit

On arrival in Amritsar, guests will be greeted and transferred to their hotel for check-in. After a relaxing breakfast, the day starts with a visit to the world-renowned Golden Temple (Sri Harmandir Sahib), the most revered Sikh shrine. Take time to absorb the peaceful ambiance, walk around the Amrit Sarovar (holy pool), and visit the Akal Takht. Afterward, visit Jallianwala Bagh, a memorial garden to honor the martyrs of the 1919 massacre. In the evening, you may attend the Palki Sahib Ceremony, where the Guru Granth Sahib is ceremoniously taken to its resting place for the night. Dinner will be at a local restaurant, and guests will return to the hotel for the night.

Day 2: The Gurudwaras Around Amritsar

After breakfast, begin the day with a visit to the Gurudwara Nanakiana Sahib, located around 45 km from Amritsar. This holy site marks the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. Take time to reflect and explore the surroundings. Afterward, head towards Gurudwara Tarn Taran Sahib, known for its historical significance and large sarovar. It’s one of the largest gurudwaras in Punjab. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and the peaceful surroundings of this sacred site.

In the afternoon, head to Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib, another important place in Sikh history. This Gurudwara commemorates the martyrdom of the sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who were bricked alive for their faith. Learn about the history and significance of this location.

Later, return to Amritsar and explore Gurudwara Baba Atal Rai, a beautiful structure built in memory of Guru Hargobind Ji’s son. The evening will be spent at Gurudwara Ramdass Sarai, a historical gurudwara that was built to commemorate Guru Ram Das Ji’s efforts in establishing the city of Amritsar. Guests can also enjoy the spiritual vibrations of Gurudwara Shri Manji Sahib. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Exploration of Gurudwaras in the Outskirts

On the third day, after breakfast, guests will visit Gurudwara Sri Chheharta Sahib, located about 5 km from Amritsar. This gurudwara is known for its historical association with Guru Arjan Dev Ji, who stopped at this place during his travels. Continue to Gurudwara Baba Bakala, where Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is believed to have stayed during his travels.

In the afternoon, visit Gurudwara Harike Patan, which is located near the confluence of the Beas and Sutlej rivers. This gurudwara is significant as it commemorates the visit of Guru Hargobind Ji, the sixth Sikh Guru. Take time to appreciate the peaceful surroundings and the holy river.

Afterward, enjoy a spiritual and peaceful retreat at Gurudwara Kalgidhar Sahib, which celebrates Guru Gobind Singh Ji's contribution to Sikhism. The evening will be free for rest or shopping at local markets, where you can pick up souvenirs and Punjabi delicacies before returning to the hotel for the night.

Day 4: Departure

On the final day, after breakfast, guests will be transferred to the Amritsar Airport or Railway Station for their onward journey, marking the end of this divine pilgrimage tour, filled with spiritual insights and memories of the sacred Gurudwaras around Amritsar.
