Day 1: Arrival in Amritsar – Golden Temple & Spiritual Start
Arrive in Amritsar, the spiritual capital of Punjab. Begin your journey with a visit to the Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib), one of the holiest shrines in Sikhism. After darshan and langar, proceed to visit Durgiana Mandir, often referred to as the “Silver Temple” for its architecture resembling the Golden Temple. In the evening, attend the Wagah Border ceremony, a patriotic experience on the India–Pakistan border. Return to hotel for overnight stay in Amritsar.
Day 2: Amritsar to Naina Devi via Anandpur Sahib
After breakfast, drive towards Naina Devi Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas where the eyes of Goddess Sati are believed to have fallen. En route, stop at Anandpur Sahib, a significant Sikh pilgrimage site. Reach Naina Devi, located on a hilltop, by ropeway or walk. After darshan and local sightseeing, check into a nearby hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3: Naina Devi to Chintpurni – Darshan of Maa Chinnamastika
After breakfast, proceed to Chintpurni Temple, dedicated to Goddess Chinnamastika. It is believed that devotees who visit with a true heart have their worries (chinta) removed. Spend time in the serene temple surroundings. Check into a hotel near Chintpurni for overnight stay.
Day 4: Chintpurni – Jwala Ji – Baglamukhi – Kangra Devi
After breakfast, begin a spiritually rich day by visiting:
Jwala Ji Temple – Known for its eternal flames that emerge from the rocks naturally, believed to be manifestations of the goddess.
Baglamukhi Temple (optional visit depending on time) – A powerful Shaktipeeth known to fulfill desires and protect against evil.
Kangra Devi Temple (Brajeshwari Temple) – A revered shrine with deep historical and spiritual significance.
After darshan, check into a hotel in Kangra or Dharamshala for overnight stay.
Day 5: Kangra to Chamunda Devi – Dharamshala Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit Chamunda Devi Temple, nestled in the Dhauladhar mountain range. Offer prayers to the fierce form of Durga and soak in the peaceful aura. Later, explore Dharamshala and Mcleodganj, visiting:
Dalai Lama Temple
Bhagsunath Temple & Waterfall
St. John’s Church
Overnight stay in Dharamshala.
Day 6: Dharamshala to Katra – Scenic Drive
Today, after breakfast, begin your drive to Katra, the base town for the revered Vaishno Devi Shrine. Enjoy the drive through the lush valleys and small hill towns of Himachal and Jammu. On arrival, check into the hotel. Rest overnight in Katra.
Day 7: Vaishno Devi Darshan – The Divine Ascent
Early morning, begin your Vaishno Devi Yatra, a trek of around 14 km (or opt for helicopter/pony/palki service). Visit the three pindis representing Goddess Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswati. After darshan, also visit Bhairon Temple if time and energy allow. Return to hotel in Katra for overnight stay.
Day 8: Katra to Amritsar – Journey Ends
After breakfast, check out and begin your return journey to Amritsar. En route, reflect on the spiritual experiences of the Nav Devi Darshan Yatra. On arrival, drop at Amritsar Railway Station or Airport, marking the end of a powerful, spiritually fulfilling journey.
